THE SITUATION
Intermountain Healthcare, an internationally recognized medical group, set out to make images easily accessible to over 10,000 practitioners, referring physicians and other occasional users. With an IT environment that included multiple vendor archives, combined with different viewers, it was difficult to easily access and share images across the organization. Needing to streamline image access, they searched for a solution that could connect to their current archives and provide all clinicians fast, real-time access to patient images, through one consistent interface.
The Solution
ResolutionMD® was successfully integrated into Intermountain’s proprietary EMR and connected with 8 data archives. The archives were comprised of 7 PACS and a VNA from a number of different vendors. The addition of ResolutionMD leverages their current architecture and does not add another storage location. A virtual database system is created that eliminates the need to copy or move data. All clinicians now have access to a true zero foot-print enterprise viewer and have gained important functionality including multi-user collaboration and mobile access with diagnostic capability.
